The Egyptian Presidency said in a statement that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi discussed regional developments—particularly the situations in Libya and Sudan—during his meeting today (Monday) with the commander of the Libyan National Army, Khalifa Haftar.
Presidential spokesperson Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy stated that “there was an agreement on the importance of intensifying international and regional efforts to reach a peaceful settlement that preserves Sudan’s stability, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.”
He added that it was emphasized that Sudan’s stability is closely linked to the national security of both Egypt and Libya.
On the Libyan issue, the Egyptian President reiterated Egypt’s support for all initiatives and efforts aimed at resolving the Libyan crisis, particularly those seeking to hold the presidential and parliamentary elections simultaneously.
