The European Union has welcomed the extension of the opening of the Adre border crossing for the entry of humanitarian aid

Brussels – Mashawir

The United Nations and the European Union have welcomed the announcement made yesterday (Tuesday) that the Adre border crossing in Chad will remain open for the passage of humanitarian supplies and the entry of humanitarian workers into Sudan until the end of June.

The Sudanese government has announced the extension of the opening of the Adre crossing between Sudan and Chad for three months, until next June.

European Commissioner Hadja Lahbib expressed her welcome for the extension of the opening of the Adre border crossing between Sudan and Chad for three months.

In a post on the platform “X,” she stated that the crossing is a lifeline for humanitarian aid in Sudan, calling for the extension to be made “sustainable” to ensure aid reaches those in need.
