The Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) trucks evacuated hundreds of residents from the city of Kurmuk in the southern Blue Nile region to Ad-Damazin, the regional capital.
The Governor of Kurmuk, Abdelati al-Faki, said that attacks launched by the Rapid Support Forces and the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North, led by Joseph Touka, on neighborhoods in Kurmuk forced citizens to displace once again to Ad-Damazin.
He noted the arrival of about 80 families, roughly 300 people, in Ad-Damazin, in addition to about 1,900 displaced people from Kurmuk who arrived in the city over the past few days.
The Governor, who received the displaced people at the Al-Karama camp in Ad-Damazin, explained that there are about 1,500 displaced people stranded in the city of Kurmuk after fleeing there from the areas of Deim Mansour and Khor Al-Boudi, located south of the province, due to battles and the control of the alliance of the Rapid Support Forces and the People’s Movement over these areas.
