“Emergency Lawyers”: Targeting of Al-Dhaman Hospital is a War Crime and a Grave Violation of International Humanitarian Law

A statement by “Emergency Lawyers” said that a drone belonging to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) bombed the international “Al-Dhaman” hospital in the city of El Obeid, North Kordofan State, on Friday morning.

The attack resulted in the death of six people and the injury of 15 others, including patients, companions, and medical staff.

The bombing caused extensive damage to the hospital and halted its services, further worsening the health situation in the city.

The statement added, “This coincided with artillery shelling carried out by the RSF from the city of Bara toward residential neighborhoods.”

The “Emergency Lawyers” group considered this attack a war crime and a grave violation of international humanitarian law.

They called for “holding accountable the responsible leaders in the Rapid Support Forces, particularly the field commander in the city of Bara, in adherence to the principle of non-impunity.”
