Sudanese Visual Artists Launch Artistic and Humanitarian Initiative to Support El Fasher
Mashawir – Follow-ups

The Sudanese Visual Artists’ General Union has issued an urgent call to all visual artists, artistic entities, and creative groups in Sudan and abroad to join a solidarity initiative under the slogan “Our Hearts Are in Sultan’s El Fasher”, in support of the city’s residents who are facing catastrophic humanitarian conditions due to hunger, shelling, and the lack of basic necessities of life — especially with the worsening situation of children suffering from malnutrition.
The initiative, which will last for about one week to ten days, invites all participants to create and paint daily, culminating at the end of this month in a unified virtual exhibition that will bring together the artworks as part of the largest visual and humanitarian call for solidarity with the people of El Fasher.
The Union stressed that this step comes in response to messages of resilience sent by artist Salah Ibrahim from the heart of the crisis, and as a reflection of the historic role of Sudanese visual art in accompanying the national struggle, from its early beginnings to the December Revolution.
It called on all organizations, associations, and art groups to unite their efforts and contribute their creative works to amplify the voice of art in confronting pain and rejecting violence and hatred.
The Union affirmed that this moment is not only an act of solidarity, but also a historic opportunity to unite Sudanese visual artists and deliver a humanitarian message to the world.
