UN: Sudan’s Humanitarian Crisis Almost Forgotten Despite Its Severity

Mashawir – Reports

Severine Ray, Director of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in the Middle East and North Africa, affirmed that the humanitarian crisis in Sudan is no less grave than the situation in Gaza. She stressed that millions of civilians are facing the risk of famine amid the total collapse of infrastructure and the immense challenges hindering the delivery of humanitarian aid.

Ray noted that Sudan’s humanitarian crisis is “almost forgotten despite its severity,” while battlefields remain dominated by war crimes and widespread violations.

She further pointed out that relief teams are facing enormous challenges, particularly concerning children.

Children suffering from malnutrition and chronic diseases are in critical condition, especially after the collapse of healthcare services.
