To Compensate for Medicine Shortages, Khartoum Residents Resort to Herbal Remedies for Dengue Fever
Reports – Mashawir

Dengue fever continues to spread epidemically in Khartoum State, particularly in Omdurman and Umbada localities.
Residents of these areas complained about the ongoing outbreak of the deadly fever, which has claimed dozens of lives since before the liberation of Khartoum State.
Laboratory reports revealed a significant increase in cases of both dengue fever and malaria in these localities.
Several doctors and health workers in hospitals attributed the wide spread of dengue fever to the delay in implementing spraying campaigns to eliminate mosquitoes and other disease-carrying insects, which have multiplied alarmingly due to stagnant water from recent heavy rains across the state and its localities. The lack of necessary treatment has forced residents to resort to herbal and traditional alternatives, such as pumpkin juice and baobab.
