National Committee to Lift El Fasher Siege Stages Protest, Submits Petition to UN

Mashawir – Reports

The National Committee to Lift the Siege on El Fasher, in coordination with the League of Peoples Organization, organized a protest march and delivered a petition to the United Nations office in Port Sudan, the country’s temporary administrative capital.

El Fasher has been under a suffocating blockade for nearly two years, facing multiple crises, including severe shortages of food supplies, skyrocketing prices of what little is available, and a lack of life-saving medicines.

Committee member Mohamed Ishaq described the situation in the city as catastrophic, stressing the urgent need for intervention by the United Nations and humanitarian organizations to prevent further loss of life.

He explained that the main demand of the march is to pressure the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) to lift the siege on El Fasher and allow the delivery of humanitarian aid to civilians.
