Emergency Measures to Receive Thousands of Displaced People Fleeing North Darfur

Medical sources told Al Jazeera that waves of displacement from El Fasher, in western Sudan, to nearby towns continue unabated amid a state of alert to respond to the needs of the displaced and provide suitable conditions for their reception.

According to Al Jazeera sources, hundreds of Sudanese have arrived in the town of Gulu, west of El Fasher, under dire humanitarian conditions and a lack of food and clothing.

The sources also indicated that the waves of displacement out of El Fasher have not stopped since the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) took control of the city a week ago.

Meanwhile, officials in Al-Dabbah locality in Sudan’s Northern State told Al Jazeera that an emergency committee is in constant session to receive those displaced from El Fasher.
