Mossad Boulos Calls for Decisive Step from Both Sides of the Sudan War

Senior Advisor to the U.S. President for African and Arab Affairs, Mossad Boulos, said that Washington expects both the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) to commit to an unconditional humanitarian ceasefire and to allow full, unobstructed access for humanitarian aid.

Boulos added in a post on his account on Platform X that the ceasefire represents a critical step to save lives and a fundamental stage in paving the way for sustained dialogue and a genuine transition to civilian rule that ensures lasting peace in Sudan.

In an article published by The Wall Street Journal, Sudan’s army chief, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, reiterated his commitment to engaging with Washington and Riyadh in any “fair and balanced” peace process.

He stressed that there can be no lasting peace in Sudan without dismantling the RSF and its mercenaries, while allowing for the integration of a limited number of its members into the national army, provided they are not implicated in crimes.
