Dilling Hospitals Forced Out of Service Following Artillery and Aerial Attacks

Follow-ups - Mashawir

The Sudan Doctors Network has announced that three hospitals in the city of Dilling, South Kordofan State, are no longer operational following targeted strikes by drones and heavy artillery. The network attributed the attacks to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N) led by Abdelaziz al-Hilu.

In a formal statement, the network confirmed that “nearly three major hospitals in Dilling have been forced out of service, while four medical staff members were killed as a result of deliberate shelling on the city by the RSF and the SPLM-N.”

The statement highlighted a sharp deterioration in the city’s health conditions. The targeting of medical facilities has led to the closure of vital departments, significantly increasing civilian suffering and reducing the capacity to provide essential healthcare. While some facilities continue to operate with limited resources to meet emergency needs, they do so under the strain of systematic and ongoing artillery fire.

The Sudan Doctors Network called on the international community and humanitarian organizations to intervene urgently to protect health facilities and provide immediate medical and logistical support to Dilling. The statement further demanded an end to the targeting of healthcare infrastructure, guaranteed unhindered access for humanitarian aid, and accountability for those responsible for these violations.
