The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Turkey issued a joint statement today (Wednesday) emphasizing their firm stance in support of Sudan’s unity, sovereignty, security, and stability.
The statement conveyed both countries’ rejection of the formation of any illegitimate or parallel entities outside the framework of Sudanese state institutions, while stressing the importance of preserving these institutions.
Furthermore, the statement emphasized the necessity of preventing the flow of illegal weapons into Sudan and ensuring it does not turn into an arena for regional or international conflicts.
The Saudi-Turkish statement stressed the need to launch a comprehensive political process led by the Sudanese themselves, leading to the formation of a civilian government. It specified that any individual or group accused of committing crimes against the Sudanese people must be excluded from this government, as well as the exclusion of extremist groups and their supporters from any political process.
On the other hand, Turkey praised the efforts made by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to achieve peace and work toward ending the war in Sudan.
The statement welcomed the recent decisions by the Sudanese Armed Forces, which included extending the opening of the “Adre” crossing with Chad, opening the airports in Kassala, Dongola, and El Obeid, as well as opening the Kadugli crossing, all aimed at facilitating the delivery of humanitarian aid to those in need.
