Activists in the Darfur region stated that more than 400 families have fled the city of Tina in North Darfur State due to bloody clashes in the area between the Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) and its allies against the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
On Monday, the Chadian government officially announced the closure of its border with Sudan, citing repeated incursions and violations committed by conflicting Sudanese forces within Chadian territory.
The North Darfur Emergency Rooms Coordination Council stated in a report that field updates from the Tina locality emergency room indicate the arrival of more than 400 new families to valley and border areas. these families join large numbers of people already suffering from dire humanitarian conditions.
Shelter sites (A, B, and C) near the Chadian border currently host approximately 2,000 families, in addition to 500 families in the “Hamra” area, which continues to receive increasing numbers. This has placed immense pressure on limited resources and resulted in a near-total lack of basic services.
The Emergency Room issued an urgent appeal to international and regional organizations and donors for immediate intervention to save thousands of families especially women and children who are living in extremely complex and difficult humanitarian circumstances.
