The Norwegian capital, Oslo, will host a peace conference on Sudan later this month, with the participation of Sudanese political forces.
Representatives from the Civil Democratic Alliance of the Forces of the Revolution (Somoud), the Sudan Founding Alliance (Ta’sees), and the Democratic Bloc are expected to take part in the conference.
In recent months, Sudanese political groups have intensified efforts to reach a consensus on forming a broad civilian front aimed at ending the war and paving the way for a democratic civilian transition.
The war in Sudan erupted in April 2023, leaving thousands dead and injured, and forcing millions of people to flee their homes as internally displaced persons and refugees.
