Massad Boulos, Senior Adviser to the US President for Arab and African Affairs, said that “the risk of famine is growing in Sudan, making an urgent humanitarian truce imperative.”
He added that “the first step towards lasting peace is a humanitarian truce. The Sudanese people deserve open, unimpeded routes for humanitarian assistance and an opportunity to engage in a political process towards peace.”
Boulos stressed that “Sudanese people continue to be killed, and civilians in the country must be protected.”
