The U.S. President’s Adviser for African Affairs, Massad Boulos, welcomed the entry of the UN mission into El Fasher, noting that the United States is building on this progress to secure a comprehensive humanitarian ceasefire across Sudan.
Boulos expressed his hope to see humanitarian aid convoys reach El Fasher regularly and without obstacles, following the city’s long and devastating siege.
He emphasized the continuation of serious efforts to secure a nationwide humanitarian ceasefire across Sudan, and reaffirmed Washington’s call for a ceasefire until the parties to the conflict accept it and implement it immediately and without preconditions.
