The United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator in Sudan, Denise Brown, said that “humanitarian work in Sudan must not be politicized.”
She noted that “the role of the humanitarian community is to deliver life-saving assistance to people in need across Sudan, in accordance with humanitarian principles.”
Brown also explained that “funding shortages, insecurity, and movement restrictions are hindering relief efforts in Blue Nile State.”
