The Civil Democratic Alliance of the Forces of the Revolution “Sumoud” warned of an unprecedented worsening of the humanitarian crisis in Sudan.
The alliance stated that “millions of civilians are facing catastrophic conditions, with increasing food insecurity and deteriorating health services, while waves of displacement continue across Darfur, Kordofan, and Blue Nile.”
According to the humanitarian situation report published by the alliance on its official Facebook page, about 34 million people are in urgent need of humanitarian assistance, including nearly 19.5 million suffering from acute food insecurity, while more than 135,000 people are living under actual famine conditions.
The alliance warned that 825,000 children are at risk of severe acute malnutrition, at a time when the number of displaced people has exceeded 13 million both inside and outside the country.
