The Nierteti Emergency Response Room in Central Darfur State has implemented a project to distribute agricultural tools to 120 families affected by the war, in an effort to support small-scale farmers, strengthen livelihoods, and improve agricultural production, thereby enhancing food security and promoting self-reliance.
Speaking to Mashaweer, Al-Sadiq Idris, a member of the Nierteti Emergency Response Room, said the project was implemented with support from the Coordination Council of Tawila and Jebel Marra Emergency Response Rooms as part of programs designed to assist communities affected by the conflict and help them restore their sources of income.
He added that the initiative aims to strengthen families’ productive capacity and enable them to achieve a greater degree of self-sufficiency.
Idris also expressed hope that humanitarian partnerships would continue, contributing to improved living conditions and helping local communities meet their essential needs.
Meanwhile, volunteer activist Ikram Mahmoud told Mashaweer that the distribution of agricultural equipment represents vital support for war-affected families, particularly displaced people who rely on farming as their primary source of income.
She noted that the project would enable many beneficiaries to resume agricultural activities and achieve a greater level of economic stability, enhancing their ability to cope with the difficult humanitarian conditions.
