> Humanitarian Aid Supports the Needs of Displaced Families in Al-Tina

North Darfur – Mashaweer

Volunteers, in partnership with the Global Relief Organization, have implemented a food assistance project targeting 592 displaced families in the Al-Tina area of North Darfur State. The distribution is part of the first phase of a humanitarian program that will be carried out in two rounds, aiming to reach a total of 1,200 displaced families in the Al-Tina and Tibra areas as part of ongoing efforts to ease the worsening humanitarian conditions faced by displaced communities.

Each beneficiary family received 40 kilograms of millet, 10 kilograms of lentils, 4 liters of cooking oil, and 2 kilograms of salt, helping to meet their essential food needs.

Displaced resident Qamar Abdullah told Mashaweer that the assistance came at a critical time, given the deteriorating living conditions and the sharp increase in food prices.

He noted that the support would help families overcome part of their hardship, while calling for continued humanitarian interventions to address the growing needs of displaced people.

Meanwhile, Mowafaq Ahmed, a volunteer activist in Al-Tina, told Mashaweer that the initiative represents an important step in supporting families affected by the war. However, he stressed that humanitarian needs remain immense.

He called on humanitarian organizations and donor agencies to expand assistance to reach more displaced families and to ensure the sustainability of humanitarian support in the coming period.
