The Al-Amal Friendship and Development Organization, in partnership with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), conducted a training workshop for 16 alternative education teachers from the Khor Tagat and Arous Al-Rimal displacement camps in North Kordofan State. The training was held as part of a project aimed at improving access to education services for children affected by the war, displaced children, and other vulnerable groups.
The workshop focused on strengthening the capacities of alternative education teachers, helping to provide a suitable learning environment for children whose access to education has been disrupted by displacement and war, while supporting the continuity of the educational process in host communities.
In this context, Zakaria Elias, a community activist in North Kordofan State, told Mashawir that “supporting alternative education represents an important step toward helping displaced and war-affected children continue their education, particularly given the circumstances that have prevented many of them from regularly attending school.”
He added that “training teachers can help improve the quality of educational services provided to children,” calling for continued training and educational support programs and their expansion to reach larger numbers of children and teachers in displacement and host areas.
