The Popular Resistance Committee in North Darfur has revealed that the city of El Fasher has been experiencing an extremely dangerous humanitarian situation since the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) took control of it on October 26.
According to the committee’s spokesperson, Abu Bakr Ahmed Al-Imam, “civilians continue to face siege and arbitrary detention amid the collapse of essential services, including communications and healthcare.”
A shocking report based on direct testimonies from inside the city stated that “civilians are either being killed and buried in mass graves underground through direct executions, or held inside prison cells.”
The report indicated that thousands of civilians—particularly youth and volunteer activists—have been rounded up on the basis of their regional or tribal affiliation during home raids or at checkpoints. They are reportedly being transported in large trucks to Shalla Prison in El Fasher and Dagrais Prison in Nyala, South Darfur.
