Teachers’ Committee Escalation Measures to Expand StrAnnouncesike

Omdurman – Mashawir

The teachers’ strike in Khartoum State entered its second day, with participation continuing in several localities. Meanwhile, the Sudanese Teachers’ Committee announced plans to take escalatory measures starting next week.

The strike comes amid ongoing trade union action by teachers demanding improvements in their professional and living conditions. The anticipated escalation measures are expected to signal a new phase in the protest movement.

Sami Al-Baqir, official spokesperson for the Sudanese Teachers’ Committee, said the committee intends to begin escalatory measures next week, noting that preparations are underway to expand the strike to include other states.

The teachers’ issue continues to generate trade union activity calling for better working conditions and a response to their demands, as the Sudanese Teachers’ Committee seeks to broaden the strike and increase pressure to secure the fulfilment of its demands.
