United Nations: Sudan Needs International Support to Ensure Citizens’ Return

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has announced that millions of Sudanese are seriously considering returning to the capital, Khartoum, despite the ongoing humanitarian and security challenges.
The UNDP stressed that creating suitable conditions would help accelerate the return of displaced people to their homes.
In a post on its official Facebook page, the program stated that “access to basic services such as water, healthcare, and shelter is the first step toward the future.”
It also highlighted that there are genuine opportunities for reconstruction and stability.
The UN agency emphasized that Sudan needs strong and sustained international support to ensure the safe and dignified return of its citizens, given the complex humanitarian situation and the urgent need to rehabilitate vital infrastructure in war-affected areas.
