Cholera Ravages Displaced People in Darfur Amid Worsening Health Conditions
Follow-ups – Mashawir

The Emergency Rooms Council of North Darfur has reported a significant rise in deaths due to a cholera outbreak at the “Dalil Babiker” camp for displaced persons and refugees, with the death toll reaching 12 people.
In a press statement, the council explained that the camp is facing dire humanitarian conditions amid weak basic services, a lack of clean drinking water, deteriorating health conditions, and a severe shortage of medical personnel.
Meanwhile, a cholera vaccination campaign has been launched in Khartoum State at Omdurman Teaching Hospital, covering five localities within the state.
The first meeting of the Federal Vaccination Room reviewed the preparedness for the campaign, which includes ensuring the delivery of supplies, training, federal supervision distribution in targeted areas, health promotion activities, and monitoring side effects, along with continued surveillance of cholera cases during the campaign.
Additionally, waves of displacement continue from conflict zones in West and South Kordofan, with more than 200 displaced families arriving in El-Obeid, the capital of North Kordofan, from those areas.
