IOM: Thousands of Sudanese Displaced from the Triangle Area Due to Armed Clashes

Follow-ups – Mashawir

The spokesperson for the Northern State government, Al-Baqir Okeisha, stated that “the situation in the state is stable and secure thanks to the vigilance and unity of the armed forces and their various supporting formations, which are currently on full alert to decisively confront any desperate attempts to undermine the security of the state and the safety of its citizens.”

In a statement, Okeisha added that “the attempts by the Rapid Support Forces’ media cells to spread rumors and hate speech through disinformation campaigns are merely media stunts that only strengthen our resolve to secure and protect the northern borders.”

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) reported that over 4,000 Sudanese people have been internally displaced, while nearly 1,000 others have fled to Libya as a result of recent clashes between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces in the Triangle Area — a strategically important intersection point between three countries, holding significant security and economic value.
