Sudden Suspension of Flights Between Sudan and the UAE Causes Confusion at Port Sudan Airport
Follow-ups – Mashawir

Sources from Sudanese airlines reported on Wednesday that the UAE’s civil aviation authorities have informed Sudanese carriers of a suspension of flights to and from Dubai and Sharjah airports.
According to the sources, the ban specifically targets Badr Airlines and Tarko Aviation, and no official reasons were provided for the suspension.
The decision caused confusion at Port Sudan Airport, as it came after passengers on a Tarko Airlines flight had already completed their departure procedures.
Tensions between Khartoum and Abu Dhabi have been escalating, with the Sudanese army accusing the United Arab Emirates of providing logistical support to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), which have been at war with the army since April 2023.
In May, Sudan’s Security and Defense Council announced the severing of diplomatic relations with the UAE, labeling it an “aggressor state” and withdrawing both its embassy and consulate general.
