Sudan’s Ministry of Irrigation and Water Resources has called on all citizens living along the banks of the Nile to take necessary measures to protect their property and lives.

In a post on its official Facebook page, the ministry confirmed that Nile water levels will continue to rise along all its banks throughout this week.

It noted that the inflow of the Blue Nile has dropped to 699 million cubic meters per day, with the discharge from Roseires Dam reduced to 613 million cubic meters.

Meanwhile, the discharge from Sennar Dam has reached 688 million cubic meters per day, Jebel Aulia Dam over 130, Khashm El-Girba Dam over 120 million cubic meters, and Merowe Dam over 730.

The ministry confirmed that several stations, states, and rivers have reached flood levels, including: Wad Al-Ais (Singa), Khartoum, Madani, Shendi, Atbara, Berber, and Jebel Aulia stations, as well as the states of Blue Nile, Sennar, Gezira, Khartoum, River Nile, and White Nile. Rivers at flood stage include the Blue Nile (from El-Damazin to Khartoum), the White Nile (from El-Jebelin to Khartoum), and the main Nile (from Khartoum to Dongola).

Floodwaters of the Nile have already reached several outlying neighborhoods along the riverbanks in White Nile and Khartoum states.
