European Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management, Hajjah Lahbib, said, “Sudan remains a top priority for the European Union.
She confirmed to Habib in a tweet on the X platform that the European Union continues to provide humanitarian support to the Sudanese.
She added: “But above all, Sudan needs peace.”
Since April 2023, Sudan has witnessed an ongoing war between the army and the Rapid Support Forces, which has resulted in the deaths of tens of thousands, the displacement of at least 11 million, and a hunger and displacement crisis that the United Nations considers the worst in the world.
The Rapid Support Forces control the Darfur region in the west of the country, while the army controls most of the east, center and south of the country.
