The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Mohamed Ali Youssouf, and the UN Secretary-General’s Personal Envoy to Sudan, Pekka Haavisto, have stressed the urgent need for an immediate ceasefire as a pathway toward a credible political process.
Both parties called on all sides to de-escalate tensions and engage in constructive and inclusive dialogue that would pave the way for a return to constitutional order.
