International organizations adjust aid operations for Sudan amid funding decline

Port Sudan – Mashawir

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies said on Monday that it is adapting its operations to support displaced people, returnees, and host communities in Sudan, amid rising needs and declining funding.

In a statement, the organization noted that changing patterns of displacement and return are creating rapidly evolving humanitarian needs across the country.

It explained that the flight of millions from violence, alongside the return of many to devastated communities while others remain displaced, is reshaping humanitarian needs and forcing aid actors to adapt in real time.

The statement added: “As needs continue to grow, funding is declining, threatening the ability of humanitarian actors to respond effectively.”
