The Ministry of Health in Khartoum State has issued a decision banning the use of all forms of tobacco inside its headquarters and all affiliated healthcare institutions, including hospitals, health centers, and ministry
premises.
The directive—issued at the request of the Director of the General Administration for Health Promotion—calls on all directors of health institutions to strictly enforce the ban and prevent tobacco use.
The ministry confirmed that violators will face penalties in accordance with the Khartoum State Tobacco Control Law of 2012.
It added that the decision aims to reduce health risks associated with tobacco use and to protect non-smokers from its harmful effects.
