United Nations: We Continue Delivering Aid to Hundreds of Thousands in Sudan Despite Security Challenges

The United Nations said that, in cooperation with non-governmental organizations and local partners, it continues to provide life-saving assistance across Sudan despite funding shortages, access constraints, and insecurity.

It added that in Tawila locality, North Darfur State, approximately 610,000 people have received food assistance. In Sennar State, a UNICEF-supported nutrition campaign recently reached nearly 340,000 people, most of them children who received Vitamin A supplements.

The UN further explained that cash assistance distribution is continuing for around 340,000 people in camps located in Al-Jabalain and Al-Salam localities in White Nile State.

It noted that the World Food Programme (WFP) and its partners hope to reach 340,000 South Sudanese refugees with voucher-based assistance, while UNICEF and its partners continue to provide safe drinking water to approximately 15,500 people in Kosti, Tendelti, and Al-Jabalain.
