Local sources reported that a landmine exploded as a vehicle was passing along a rural road in North Kordofan, connecting the city of Bara with several villages. No injuries were reported.
North Kordofan has witnessed several landmine explosions in recent months, resulting in deaths and injuries, particularly in the localities of Bara, Umm Rawaba, and Al-Rahad, according to medical and local sources.
Meanwhile, mine-clearance teams are facing difficulties in carrying out survey operations due to the vast geographical area and the challenging terrain and road conditions.
Residents of areas and villages that have witnessed intense military clashes are increasingly concerned about the danger posed by landmines and explosive remnants of war, both unexploded and otherwise, which are widely scattered along roads, inside abandoned homes, and beneath the rubble.
