Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty met with UK Home Secretary Yvette Cooper on Saturday on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum.
The meeting addressed regional developments, with Abdelatty reviewing Egypt’s efforts to contain escalation in the region.
He emphasized the urgent need to reach a humanitarian truce in Sudan as a step toward a comprehensive ceasefire and the launch of an inclusive political process led and owned by Sudanese parties.
He also stressed the priority of ensuring unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid to the Sudanese people.
Abdelatty further outlined Egypt’s efforts within the framework of the international “Quad” mechanism dealing with the Sudan crisis.
