The Sudan Doctors Network announced that six people were injured and medical supply warehouses were destroyed as a result of what it described as deliberate missile shelling carried out by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and the SPLM-North on the city of Al-Dalang.
In a statement, the network said that “targeting health facilities and medicine warehouses constitutes a fully-fledged crime and a blatant violation of international humanitarian law.”
The statement added: “We hold the Rapid Support Forces and the SPLM fully responsible for these repeated violations against civilians and healthcare infrastructure.”
It continued: “We call on the international community and UN and human rights organizations to take urgent action to condemn these crimes and work to protect health facilities and workers in the medical sector.”
The network also demanded the opening of an independent investigation to hold all those involved in targeting civilian institutions and humanitarian services accountable.”
