Heavy rains and floods that hit most states across Sudan over the past two days have killed two people, injured five others, and caused more than 300 homes to collapse in Al-Ghabsha Al-Mahatta town, in Umm Rawaba locality, North Kordofan State.
Most permanent buildings in the town were also damaged and lost their roofs, including schools.
Flash floods swept through Al-Freijab village in Al-Hassahisa locality, Al Jazira State, inundating large areas of farmland and homes as the village became surrounded by floodwaters and rainwater.
The local emergency response room issued an urgent appeal to all relevant authorities and humanitarian organizations to intervene rapidly and help address the situation.
