The Emergency Response Room at the Irdimi camp for Sudanese refugees in eastern Chad conducted a field visit to several families that include people with physical disabilities, to assess their humanitarian conditions and needs amid the weather conditions accompanying the rainy season, including heavy rains and strong winds.
During the visit, the Emergency Response Room distributed a number of plastic tarpaulins to the targeted families to help protect them from rainwater and reduce the impact of the difficult weather conditions they face inside the camp.
Ahmed Bush, a member of the North Darfur Emergency Response Room, told Mashaweer that “the intervention was supported by the North Darfur Emergency Response Rooms Coordination Council as part of ongoing efforts to check on the most vulnerable and affected families in the camp and respond to their needs.”
Bush called on humanitarian organizations and generous donors to continue supporting the most vulnerable families and contribute to providing shelter materials and essential assistance, particularly as challenges associated with the rainy season persist.
