Upcoming Meetings Among Sudanese Political Forces to Reach Consensus on Ending the War

Follow-ups – Mashawir

Sudanese political forces are expected to hold meetings in the coming days to reach a consensus on the principles and foundations for ending the war.

Meanwhile, the Revolutionary Coalition of Democratic Civil Forces (Samoond), led by former Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok, has submitted its political vision for ending the war and restoring the democratic civilian transition to various political groups, including the Forces of Freedom and Change (Democratic Bloc), the Original Ba’ath Party, the Popular Congress Party, the Umma Party led by Mubarak Al-Fadil Al-Mahdi, and the National Forces Alliance led by Tijani Al-Sissi.

The coalition has called for bilateral meetings with these political groups to reach common ground on the principles of ending the war.

In a press conference, the coalition stated that it will continue in the coming days to engage in direct dialogue with the Sudan Liberation Movement led by Abdelwahid Al-Nur, in line with the movement’s initiative to build a broad civilian anti-war front.

The Samoond coalition also announced plans to hold consultative meetings with civil forces to help align and coordinate positions in order to develop practical proposals to end the fighting in the country.
