Combat Force from Darfur States Preparing to Break the Siege of El Fasher

The Acting Governor of Darfur Region, Mustafa Nasr Al-Din Tambour, stressed the urgent need for coordination between the governments of the five Darfur states and the committee appointed by the governor to protect civilians, support community kitchens, and aid initiatives in El Fasher, through contributions from the states and national charitable organizations.

A broad meeting with the governors of the region’s states agreed on the necessity of forming a unified combat force from all five Darfur states to participate in operations aimed at breaking the siege of El Fasher and securing the city. The meeting also emphasized coordination among Darfur’s state governments to find urgent solutions to the humanitarian crisis and the acute shortage of food, medicine, and shelter in the city.

El Fasher, besieged by the RSF for more than a year and a half, has been suffering from a severe shortage of food supplies. A few days ago, community kitchens ceased operations, pushing the city into a state of full-scale famine, with residents beginning to die of hunger.
