The US President’s Advisor for Arab and African Affairs, Massad Boulos, discussed the gravity of the humanitarian crisis in Sudan with the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Faisal bin Farhan; the UAE, Abdullah bin Zayed; and Egypt, Badr Abdelatty.
This came during phone calls Boulos held with the three ministers, according to a post on his X platform account.
Boulos stated that during these calls, he discussed ongoing diplomatic efforts to push for a humanitarian truce in Sudan.
He added, We discussed the seriousness of the humanitarian crisis, the immense suffering endured by civilians, and the urgent need to reach a permanent ceasefire.
According to Boulos, the four parties reaffirmed their shared commitment to supporting all efforts aimed at alleviating humanitarian suffering and moving toward a sustainable path for peace and stability.
For months, the United States and Saudi Arabia, through the international Quartet—which also includes Egypt and the UAE—have been leading efforts to achieve a humanitarian truce in Sudan.
