Activists have revealed that the humanitarian situation in North Darfur has exceeded all limits, with tens of thousands of families facing dire humanitarian conditions due to ongoing battles and the continuous siege of the city of El Fasher.
People are now lining up in long queues to obtain animal feed “Ambaz” and are surviving by eating the fruits of neem trees to resist hunger.
According to activists, food and basic goods have become nearly nonexistent, and their prices have surged to unprecedented levels, forcing citizens to consume materials unsuitable for human consumption.
The Displaced Persons and Refugees Coordination in Darfur has warned of the spread of epidemics and diseases among the displaced within the camps, which now lack even the most basic life necessities such as shelter, food, and medicine. The onset of the rainy season is expected to worsen the already deteriorating humanitarian situation, as displaced persons are living in the open without food, drinking water, or even blankets.

Adam Rajal, the spokesperson for the coordination, explained that the aid that has arrived and been distributed to the displaced represents only 10% of the actual needs.
