Thousands Displaced from Babanusa Amid Fighting and Worsening Humanitarian Conditions

Local sources revealed that although the Sudanese army has regained control over neighborhoods surrounding the 22nd Division in Babanusa, clashes and ongoing confrontations have continued around the city for more than two months, with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) retreating to rear positions.

The RSF confirmed its forces are nearing the “liberation” of Babanusa, stating that they had received their third reinforcement convoy in the area.

The city has become nearly deserted, following the displacement of over 50,000 people in recent weeks due to the rapidly deteriorating humanitarian situation.
