Eight Displaced Persons Killed in Airstrike on Shelters in West Kordofan
Follow-ups – Mashawir

At least eight people were killed and several others injured after a military aircraft bombed two displacement shelters in the city of Abu Zabad, located in West Kordofan State.
A statement issued by the Abu Zabad Local Emergency Room reported that “more than eight people, including children and the elderly, were killed in an airstrike carried out by military aircraft targeting two displacement shelters at Osama bin Zaid and Al-Wifaq schools in Abu Zabad.”
The statement accused the army of deliberately targeting displacement centers in West Kordofan, calling it a “blatant violation of all laws and norms.”
It strongly condemned the repeated targeting of IDP shelters, describing it as a war crime, and called on both warring parties to stay away from displaced persons’ gathering areas and to immediately cease attacks against them.
The statement also recalled a previous airstrike on the Abu Zabad Secondary School for Girls displacement center on June 10, and noted that the local market was hit at least three times in the past three weeks, resulting in civilian casualties.
