The city of Dilling in South Kordofan State is facing an increasingly complex security and humanitarian situation, with ongoing tensions and clashes. Residential neighborhoods and public facilities continue to be subjected to artillery shelling, while ground assaults and drone attacks have intensified.
Although the siege imposed for a prolonged period by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) has been lifted, the city remains largely isolated and continues to experience disruptions to supply routes. The previous blockade, coupled with ongoing fighting, has triggered a severe humanitarian and health crisis, resulting in acute shortages of food and medicine. Many public facilities and hospitals have either ceased operations or are functioning only at limited capacity.
In this context, Khalid Bashir, a resident of Dilling, South Kordofan, said:
> “Living conditions and the humanitarian situation have become extremely dire. Hunger has affected the majority of the population, and many of our neighbors go an entire day without eating a single meal.”
Bashir also noted that:
> “Cases of febrile illnesses, malnutrition, and malaria have risen significantly, along with waterborne infectious diseases. Respiratory infections have become widespread among both children and adults, while access to healthcare is virtually nonexistent.”
