The International Organization for Migration (IOM) reported that heavy rains and flash floods that hit Tawila locality in North Darfur State on August 17 displaced around 16 families from several locations, including displacement settlements in Tawila Al-Omda and Dali, as well as Dabnira village and Dali neighborhood.
The organization said 16 homes were destroyed and 190 others were partially damaged, forcing displaced families to seek temporary shelter in open areas within the locality.
The IOM stressed that the figures are preliminary estimates and remain subject to verification and updates.
It added that teams from the Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) continue to monitor developments and population movements across Sudan.
